 It is never too late to start something new, and this is exactly what a 32-year-old mom has been presenting. Katarina Ranjh is trying her hands on skateboarding. She currently runs the Girls Up to Skate Taranaki (GUTS) program. 

This guts program provides skating lessons to girls who are up to 6 years of age and above. Katarina also talks about her flaking out of the events that she tried her hands on. The driving force that kept her going all the way to learn to skateboard is her son.

Katarina and a new skateboarding journey

A 32-year-old mom talks about her journey into the skateboarding area. She wanted to be a cool mom for her kids. The driving force of her is her two-year-old son who is into skateboarding. Kate talks about him, watching her husband playing Tony Hawk’s pro on PlayStation, and this is what made him crazy about skateboarding. The initial phases which have been tough for her as she thought of flaking out of the event as it was decided to start three weeks after her signing up. 

She also talks about the history of having the excitement of trying something new but then giving up. She mentions that these exciting and adventurous things that she tries to get her hands on have been good experiences for her.

Her list includes skydiving tattoos, piercings, moving to New York, and all other decisions that she made for her adrenaline rush. Kate also talks about her first class when she saw a group of girls trying to learn to skateboard while tumbling and shedding tears. However, other people supported each one of them and that led her to believe that it was also possible for her. 

Skateboards are not easy, right? There would be technicalities in every kind of sport to learn. Katarina shares her experience of learning new things in skateboarding.

Kate and getting the right combination

Kate talks about getting the right footing on the skateboard to perform jumps. She mentions that initially; she thought it would be a simple skateboarding event. But when the jumps came, she found her right footing on the board, which is a vital part of learning to skateboard.

After some jumps, she got her foot right, and it gave her the confidence to do it all by herself.

After getting so far, Kate believes that she could be the driving force for her son and the upcoming kids. Her new skateboard journey at the age of 32 is a perfect example for people to see that there is no such thing as not being good or being too late to try something new.

Trying anything and trying and trying can give you confidence. It can make you a polished player in any field as well. All it needs is your will to participate. With this motto, Kate continues her skateboarding journey and wishes to inspire her son someday.
