Conspiracy theories are an area of great interest, especially for the general masses. The desire to unearth secrets of the privileged as well as their government is something that draws people together.
Conspiracy theories are not a modern world invention but go back centuries albeit with a limited scope of spreading. The COVID-19 pandemic paved the way for them to enter into the mainstream media and not just remain sporadic thoughts. From claiming that Donald Trump is the leader in the fight against pedophiles in the government, Democrats operate a sex-trafficking ring through a pizza parlor and that JFK was never really dead and will return.

QAnon followers refuse to believe reports
And now, the group is in the midst of stirring up conspiracies relating to the death of their leader, Michael Protzman.
It is reported that Protzman met with a lethal dirt bike accident that left him with “multiple blunt force injuries.” The 60-year-old was on a visit to the Meadow Valley Motocross track in Millville, Minnesota where he met his fatal demise. Admitted to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, the cult leader passed away due to the extent and damage of injury, as confirmed by VICE News.
But followers of QAnon have argued that the death of Protzman aka Negative 48 is nothing but a hoax and flooded the media with conspiracy theories surrounding his “reported death”. One of the operators of QAnons Telegram channel said that they will not entertain any discussions around the death of their leader until they obtain “absolute verification”. A member was kicked out of their social group for enquiring about Protzman’s health condition.

Protzman’s family comes clean
Another bizarre theory shared by Shelly Mullinax suggested that only part of him has died in the accident. She believes him to be JFK and proposed that only his bad side has died and he will return. “If that was the plan that God had for him, I know that everything is going to be revealed soon,” said Mullinax to the media.
Protzman’s rise to notorious fame began in 2021 when his theory of JFK being alive got mainstream attention. He also claimed that former US president Donald Trump was in constant touch with him through a secret code.
The advent of social media, rising polarization and the deadly pandemic are the reasons behind conspiracy theories becoming the primary source of information. Questioning the authenticity is a right thought to have but not at the cost of sanity and objectivity.
