The respective teams arranged the joint practice session after the opportunity to gain more reps before their game on Monday night. Both teams stood to gain a lot from the exercise but what unfolded on the day of practice shocked everyone. Instead of getting game time and hours under their belt, the tempers on the field got the better of most.

Multiple fights erupted and several punches got thrown the day. The first spat broke out between Tylan Wallace, the Ravens wide receiver, and Emmanuel Forbes from the Commanders. Wallace made the first move and showed his discontent with the manner Forbes kept hold of during the coverage.

The launch of a punch escalated the whole situation from there on. Players had to intervene and break out the scuffle with multiple people getting involved. The scuffle led to both head coaches calling their teams off the field in order to de-escalate the situation as tempers flared high.

The situation eventually died down but there were a few words exchanged between players before play resumed once again.

Monday night promises to be intense

The drama and fights, however, did not stop as Mark Andrews slammed Commanders’ corner, Danny Johnson, to the ground. The duo had to be separated by their teammates and there was another stoppage in play as players from both sides rushed for a fight once again. Things continued to be rough and intense as multiple arguments and fights took place frequently.

Ravens cornerback Ar’Darius Washington took things too far after he shoved an opponent player and pushed him to the ground. This eventually led to another scrum. Fans watching the practice game cheered as the drama went on. However, both the coaches of the team were left disappointed. Speaking to the media, the Ravens coach said,

“I thought it was a really good practice. We had a couple dust ups which you don’t want to see but it’s not really unexpected. I thought they got handled pretty quickly.”

He believed that the fights are short-lived and players do not tend to take these things back with them. What happens on the field, stays on the field, and instances like these act like fuel for a better performance. The Commanders coach, however, did not echo the same thoughts as his counterpart and had this to say about the drama: “Everybody’s trying to get better, but the chippiness you just can’t have because it just doesn’t make sense.”

With both teams coming off a victory in their previous pre season game and the added flavor of drama and intensity, their clash on Monday night promises to be a riveting contest! The match is scheduled at the Washington Commanders home turf, ‘FedExField’ and it will be exciting to watch if the home advantage comes to their aid or if the weekend drama spurs the Ravens to a memorable win.
