VIDEO: Footage Captures Equestrian Rider Kick and Lash Out at the Horse

Horses are a crucial part of a horse racing event, and they are kept under control for certain reasons, which are also obvious. There had been times when a stick could be used to get some animal under control, but harsh treatment without any cause cannot be explained.

Recently, the video has been shared widely where a woman could be seen taking down lashes on a horse off the tracks and it looked like it was unnecessary.

A horse rider unnecessarily beating a horse

In the uploaded video, which is shared among many people, a woman named Rebecca Smithey could be seen thrashing a horse and kicking him several times, which was considered unnecessary and was against animal treatment policies. The court also took an interest in the case where Smithey tried to explain what she said to the judge.

However, the decision went against her request for a key suppressing her name. Also, unlawfully treating an animal pushed Smithey towards legal charges. The rider claimed that her intentions were just to control the animal to avoid any injuries and the actions she made, what termed as spinning by her which is used when an animal is out of control. However, there was another rare incident when a horse rider died due to rash behavior from the horse.

The horse throws the woman away after getting spooked

In a rare incident, a horse rider, which was a woman in her 50s, came to a near clash with a motorcycle and when the horse got close to the motorcycle was pulled and threw the woman away from him. The woman was instantly dead on the spot. The horse and a motorcyclist escaped, but they got minor injuries. However, no arrests were made. Since it was considered as an accident. It was a really tragic way for someone to be gone. The next of kin from the woman’s family has been informed.

In a way, everyone agreed with the decision on Smithey by the court by not suppressing her name. It is a hope that animals who are involved in races or any sports should be treated rationally.
