As the bout was about to start, Miguel Grijalva was preparing himself with routine warm-up exercises. But little did he know that a routine warm-up jump would result in a distressing knee injury. The moment he landed on the ring after the jump, he knew there was something wrong.

In just a few seconds, his pain skyrocketed, leaving him crying on the floor. Although the medical team arrived quickly, they couldn’t treat the injury which looked like an ACL or MCL tear. After prolonged treatment, Grijalva somehow limped off the ring with the help of his doctors. With that, his MMA bout of him was also over, even before it started.
People react with shock and anger on X
As the video made its rounds on social media, X (formerly Twitter) users couldn’t help but share their opinions on the unfortunate event.
One user empathized with Grijalva, revealing a similar personal experience. They said, ” Just the same I injured myself when I returned to the gym.”

Eso sucede por hacer piruetas y pavadas antes del combate. Poco profesionales los que hacen eso y mira las consecuencias.
