After the court has made its word on the transgender community for the sports department, things don’t seem to be getting settled anytime soon.
There has been continuous resistance to the decision as women athletes feel it is unfair to have a biological male competing against them as they have an undue advantage. Recently, a 16-year-old swimming athlete was scrapped off the team when she resisted the cause.

YMCA has ejected a swimming athlete, Abbigail Wheeler, on the grounds of her posting a sign-up in the girl’s locker room. The sign said, “ biological women only”, “Women’s Rights”, and “safe sports.”
At just 16-years-old Abbigail Wheeler was kicked off her swim team, banned from the YMCA, & accused of hate speech after voicing concerns when a biological male continued to use the women's locker room.

The ejected player admitted and spoke about it in a recent interview. In her own words, she mentioned that the sign was put up by her and her friend, so she voluntarily went to the Coach and told him about it. Wheeler thought that it was a cause that a coach would also support however to her surprise the coach suggested her not to participate in the event and also that her family would be called upon by the organisation that is YMCA for further notice. Ultimately, she was scrapped off the team and was banned by the YMCA. The player feels that her speech was suppressed, and it was totally unfair and it crashes the morale of a player.
However, YMCA has totally denied the allegations placed by the athlete and unofficially made the sentence on behalf of the organization.

YMCA statement on the ejection
One of the statements from the YMCA local chapter reads, “There have been a variety of false statements around the same issues circulated by the same individuals since the past May. In this version of the story, the statement that the swimmer was removed from the Y and prevented from participating in the swim team is false. She left the swim team and the YMCA on her own.“

When Wheeler was asked about this YMCA statement, she said that she was telling the truth and that she stood up for her team as a “megaphone.” Wheeler doesn’t feel that she did any mistake putting up those signs. It would be crucial to see if her removal is permanent or YMCA could make some amends in the situation.
