 In modern times, a gym routine is a refreshing way to keep yourself in shape with a very busy schedule in place. Many adults religiously hit the gym on a daily basis to reach their fitness goals.

There are many machines and equipment in the gym which assist a human to work on every muscle of their body. However, recently one of the most widely used electric machines, the treadmill turned deadly for an adult.

When the treadmill turned killer

A 24-year-old youth from Delhi, India died in the gym doing his workout when a treadmill electrocuted him. A treadmill in the gym is used for running and it works electrically. The exact location of the gym is Sector 15, Delhi, India. The deceased is identified as Saksham, who was 24 years of age. The gym in which he was working out was, “Rohini Gym.”

According to the news, as soon as Saksham started his workout on the treadmill, he was electrocuted and he fell to the ground. The fellow workout mates tried to aid Saksham and immediately rushed him to the hospital. However, it was very late for Saksham and doctors pronounced him dead. The police authorities also made an active move after this case.

Manager held accountable for the electrocution

The authorities lodged a complaint after the demise and the manager of the gym was taken into custody. After the questioning, it was revealed that wires were running out of those treadmills and they were of a very high voltage as treadmill takes a lot of input.

The demise would be unbearable for the family as Saksham was just starting his life. As per the reports, he was an employee in a multinational company. The neglect in the gym or any other sports department where electrical equipment is involved is totally unacceptable. High voltages can be life-threatening and should be kept under proper maintenance. Stringent decisions should be taken against such actions by the law authorities.
