While Hoogland claimed the title by the mere difference of almost a second, the velodrome in Aguascalientes witnessed history in the making. 

Maintaining his reputation as the current world champion, Hoogland completed the electrifying trial match in an astonishing time span, which marked only 55.433 seconds! However, this audacious victory was not only about his significant gameplay in cycling races; it also portrayed a true sense of relentless determination. Throughout the four-lap match, Hoogland solidified his backup plans, moving from five-tenths of one second to a whopping eight-tenths count. Crossing the line with echoing cheers, Hoogland’s performance left enthusiasts anticipating his next game.

Hoogland’s record-making cycling moment unfolded at the renowned Mexican venue, which sits at a favorable altitude of 1,887 meters above sea level. The racing location is quite popular for its fast tracks, creating the perfect stage for every extraordinary bicycle ride. As the cycling sensation earned the prestigious title at the trial, his success eclipsed Francois Pervis’ benchmark from a previous event in 2013. Reportedly, Pervis had finished at 56.303 seconds, which stood as the longest-standing track world record.

Although the title remained untouched for almost a decade before Hoogland’s performance, his latest cycling venture modified history like never before. Highlighting his charismatic expertise, the pro cyclist also won four time-trial championships, an achievement that set Hoogland apart as one of the most formidable riders of his generation. Evidently, Hoogland also gained unwavering assistance from the Netherlands national team’s coach, Mehdi Kordi, who helped him get off the bike when the race ended.

However, these record-breaking endeavors were not without their troubles and tribulations. As he crossed the line, Hoogland recalled suffering from extreme physical exertion, requiring him to take on extra oxygen to recover. Confessing the exhilarating aspect of this cycling race, the pro rider mentioned feeling uncertain if he was even alive! 

Soon after, he was recorded during a candid media exchange, where the cycling sensation admitted encountering tremendous physical hurdles, stating, “I can’t really enjoy it yet. It hurts everywhere but I’m very happy with the world record.” Adding to the glory, Jeffrey acknowledged his thrilling venture, which broke records by almost a second! For Hoogland, this achievement was about more than just a personal win, as the cyclists always wished his name to be etched at the top of the starting list for years to come.
