Louise Santos, a 54-year-old woman, lost her life on Monday. She lived in Australia and went on a vacation to France. She celebrated her birthday 10 days back. Louise was also a long-serving member of a Sydney surf lifesaving club. The whole surfing community mourns her loss.
Santos went on a trip with her husband, Stuart, along with her son. She was also the first female individual Australian Gold medalist in the 2005 Iron woman competition. Around 200 people expressed their grief on social media. However, the cause for the death is still unknown.

Santos was an active member of the Bondi Surf Club. She was a volunteer and also a competitor there for two decades. President Brent Jackson looked absolutely devastated after hearing the news of the accident. Jackson said Santos played an important part in planning the upcoming season of the club’s surfing team. She also played a pivotal role inside the club. 7news shared some thoughts of Jackson after he heard the news.

“The entire club stands in profound shock, grappling with the void left by Louise’s passing,” he said.
“She recently became our newest life member.” “Her commitment knew no bounds, and she continued to champion our cause diligently,” he said.
“Personally, I will deeply miss Louise’s straightforward, pragmatic approach, and her resolute can-do attitude that inspired us all.
“Her influence reverberated through countless aspects of our club, and her absence will be profoundly felt by each and every one of us.
“Louise’s legacy is one of unwavering dedication, and the profound impact she had on our club’s journey.”

They held a minute of silence on Wednesday morning in memory of Santos. The club will also hold a candlelight memorial for Santos at 6pm on Wednesday.
Louise Santos- A Woman of Many Achievements
Santos, as a member, had many fans within the organisation. However, as an athlete, she had many achievements under her belt. She won the gold medal at the 2005 Australian Iron woman competition in the age bracket of 35-39. Santos won around 40 Australian master’s medals. She also won medals at the World Masters Surf Life Saving events.

Santos also competed at the Coolangatta Gold Long Course endurance event multiple times. However, she bagged second place in 2018. A woman with a humble and enthusiastic nature left us. Let us know about your thoughts about the incident.
