Bayern Munich visited Rams Park to face Galatasaray on October 24 for their Champions League away fixture. The game ended in the favour with Bayern winning 3-1. This would naturally mean a sense of happiness in the dressing room. However, for the fans in the city, this was anything but a good experience.

Located in Turkey, Instanbul, Rams Park is the home turf of Galatasaray. In a video that has now gone viral, a violent altercation between the Bayern Munich supporters and Galatasaray supporters can be seen taking place. It looked more like a WWE match at that point, as they used chairs in the fight.

The streets looked like a squared circle as the crowd was throwing objects at each other, making certain fans online very nostalgic about WWE’s infamous TLC matches. But there’s a reason WWE doesn’t want you to try it at home. This violent altercation resulted in four Bayern fans and one Turkish fan sustaining minor injuries. 

It was an intense battle between the two clubs. The first goal came within eight minutes of the match. The home club, however, found a way back in the 30th minute with a penalty, that Mauro Icardi converted make the game square again. 

The game remained in a state of stalemate until Bayern’s newest star Harry Kane in the 73rd minute of the game to give them the lead. Iyy was finally wrapped up by a Musiala goal in the 79th minute, assuring all three points for the German giants. 

But the brilliance of the game was not enough to overshadow the incidents of earlier that day. As soon as the footage of the flying chairs went on the X platform, the audience had a lot to say. 

Reactions to the violence

The audience on the X platform shared their personal views on the whole situation.

The violence has made people question if these guys were even real fans.

Some people were genuinely surprised that someone actually carried a chair with them.

This guy wants them all arrested!

A user questions the intelligence and anger control of the extensive crowd. A game must be fought on the field and when the whistle blows, it should be wrapped there. Taking it off the field makes no sense.

Although this loss does sting, Galatasaray is doing pretty well in the league. They have played 9 matches in the Super Lig, out of which they have 8 wins and 1 draw and stand second on the league table. They will hope to recover from this loss and get on with their form.
