Larsson, affectionately nicknamed, “Bosse” has truly transcended the boundaries of the game and left behind an unforgettable legacy as a soccer virtuoso. Hailing from Malmo, Larsson was not just a player. With more than 70 appearances for Sweden, and a trifecta of World Cup Participation in three consecutive world cups, 1970, 1974, and 1978, he was a jewel for his nation. Scoring a staggering number of 289 goals in 546 games, he will continue to be the heartbeat of the southern club.
From 1965 to 1977, he was at the peak of his career and he won the league for six consecutive times. Larsson also bagged the position of the competition’s highest goal scorer thrice. His balletic finesse on the field, both as a midfielder and a striker, was indeed noteworthy. Adding to his storied journey he had a brief sojourn in Germany, with Stuttgart for 3 years from 1966-1969 before he finally settled in Malmo again.
