FIFA, the main Governing Body of football, imposed lifetime bans on three soccer players. All three players are from Brazil itself. Brazilian police played a major role in cracking the case. The three players Ygor Catatau, Matheus Gomez, and Gabriel Tota are involved in a match-fixing scandal.
They banned all three players for lifetime. A match-fixing scandal related to sports betting involves the players. In addition, a few other players also got caught in the investigation. However, match fixing is a common phenomenon and is prevailing in all countries.

The Governing body of football in Brazil agreed to the decision of lifetime bans. Although these players will not be playing football inside Brazil any more. The governing body wants the ban to extend to all over the World. These three players do not get to play anywhere.
13 matches played between September 2022 and February 2023 are under the scanner. The players in these matches deliberately tried to affect the outcome of these matches. Criminal Organizations specializing in manipulating soccer matches are heavily involved. Moreover, the players come from a very humble background in these places. Specially in Brazil, where the standard of living is very low. Players indulge in such kind of fixing in order to earn money.
According to the reports, the players can earn around USD $20000. In order to get this amount, the player only has to concede a penalty.
