Adventurous sports are now witnessing a growing rise in participation from teenagers. However, apart from embarking on a daring skydiving adventure, the 17-year-old teenager from West Australia has added a twist to his jump.

A blend of passion adds a thrilling touch to the skydive

The young boy from Australia had reached speeds of approximately 200 kilometers per hour by diving over Jurien Bay. The already arduous feat added an extra level of challenge as Sam pursued to perform an exhilarating stunt of solving a Rubik’s Cube while floating in the air at such a staggering height.

Through this stunt, Sam brilliantly amalgamates his dual passions for speed-cubing and skydiving overcoming the challenges that are exceptional for each of the two sports. It took Sam 28.25 seconds to solve the puzzle at such an astonishing altitude while he holds a record of completing the puzzle within 6.5 seconds on the ground.
Sam shared his skydiving experience while at the same time solving the Rubik’s Cube with ABC News, “It’s really intense. It’s very loud, because you’ve got all the wind in your face. So it’s a lot harder to concentrate than if I’m just on the ground solving it … my record on the ground is a lot faster than in air – it’s about 6.5 seconds.”

Even though he has been honing skills in solving the Rubik’s Cube since 2017, Sam waited till he turned 16 to pursue his sky-diving passion. From the beginning, he aspired to be a solo skydiver and by the time he stepped into the second year of skydiving, he had already accomplished 80 successful jumps securing his long-term place in the community.
During his journey towards becoming a professional in skydiving at such a tender age, Sam received unwavering support from his family and girlfriend who encouraged him to push his limits and break existing records. Sam’s journey exhibits that the thrilling journey motivates him as he aims at refining his skydiving skills while enjoying every moment of the experience.
Among the other record holders in this fusion stunt is the Indian national, Chinmay Prabhu who completed solving a rotating puzzle tetrahedron during his freefall in 24.22 seconds. The other record holder is Chinese citizen, Wang Yibo who set the record for completing the puzzle while dribbling a basketball.
