The world of parachuting witnesses yet another record-breaker! Razan Al-Ajmi has become the first woman from Saudi Arabia to acquire the prestigious license of free-diving from the US Parachute Association.
The notable accomplishment, other than being Al-Ajmi’s personal victory, serves as a historic milestone for all the women from the country of Saudi Arabia. Through this achievement, the country moves a step forward towards gender inclusivity and empowerment.

It has been two years since Al-Ajmi embarked on her skydiving journey and within this short span, she has accomplished 500 impressive jumps spanning across her own country and in the international nations of Russia, Spain and France.
Prior to this, it was back in March this year when Al-Ajmi made it to the headlines for jumping out of an aircraft from 15,000 feet while clasping to her country’s flag. Her interview with the Gulf News echoed self-confidence as he shared her aspirations, “Achieving my dream to jump with my country flag is starting now.”
Even after excelling in her profession, she refuses to restrict herself to personal accomplishments as she intends to empower the upcoming generation of athletes and encourage the women from her country to take part in skydiving. She takes her dream ahead by establishing a skydiving school of her own. As a result of this, Al-Ajmi looks forward to disseminating her knowledge and expertise to motivate aspiring skydivers.

In the process of following her passion, Al-Ajmi keeps on exposing herself out of her comfort zone. At present, she will be trying out the new and innovative variation of the sport known as simulation or indoor skydiving during the Riyadh/Boulevard World season that is about to begin on October 28, 2023 serving as the best platform to hone her skills.

Besides her excellence in the sport, her journey manifests a greater move driving towards the empowerment of women in Saudi Arabia.
