In an exceptional event of technique and skill, the United States Army Golden Knights are attempting something new. The event will take place on the 22nd of September. The team is planning to attempt a parachute jump above Seaforth High School.

The jump will take place before the game starts on Friday. SPC specialist Brandon Hexum is the one leading the troop of these brave individuals. All the preparations are in full flow and the security of the troopers is the biggest concern. Friday will be a testament to these highly trained individuals.

Preparing for the Jump- A Matter of Detailing

Any parachute jump requires a lot of details and planning. Now matter how big or small the jumps are, small details matter a lot. Specialist Hexum looks into it and makes sure everything is in order. Site survey conducted by him helps him and the team to understand how to avoid the difficulties. Also, one has to take into considerations the weather as well. No matter how well you are prepared,the weather will always have an upper hand.

The Golden Knights will require an altitude of a minimum of 2000 feet to ensure the safe landing. Also, the wind speed should not be more than 20 miles/hour. All these factors contribute to a perfect completion of parachute jumps.

According to Chatham journal, The Golden Knights go under intense training before attempting any such drills. Hexum and his team mates spend 8 weeks in Florida preparing for such events. The intensity of practice is such that each individual completes 200 jumps. However, another important thing to keep in mind is the communication between the divers. This is where hand signals come into play. All of Hexum’s crew are very proficient in using hand signals and can communicate freely with each other.

The story of the United States Army Golden Knights started back in 1959. Their aim was to create new methods and tools, attract new members, and establish a strong relationship with the American public. They also helped in recruitment of youngsters.
