The hospice workers team included five members, namely Felicity Edwards, Jenny Greenhalgh, Georgia Miles, Sam Jones, and Tammy Stracey. Joining the group of five was Sam Beare Hospice, the marketing executive of Woking & Sam Beare Hospice. It was at the Old Sarum Airfield near Salisbury that the odyssey of the team commenced on October 6 as they embarked on a tandem skydive adventure under clear blue skies.

The idea behind the daring move emerged out of admiration for the extraordinary hurdles that hospice patients have to go through regularly. For Wakefield, he overcame his fear of heights with this undertaking and received the eminent participation of caregivers who share the same passion for increasing awareness of the hospice.

He shared the mission behind the skydiving venture with Woking News & Mail, “Every day at work, I get to support people with the amazing challenges they do.”

Sharing common passion and paying tribute

Woking & Sam Beare Hospice acknowledges the profound impact of their staff on the people they care for and they chose the Hospice Week to honor their effort. The occasion will span until 15 October as a gesture of celebrating and recognizing the commitment of the caregivers.
