Having an attempt to skydive and for a good reason is a perfect combination for adventure enthusiasts. Guild Care, the prominent social care charity in Worthing, has a noble mission – To support older individuals, those living with dementia, and children and adults with learning disabilities. At its core, Guild Care strives to combat social isolation and eliminate the stigma associated with it.

Kerri Sparrowe, in an act of extraordinary bravery, leapt from an astonishing altitude of 10,000 feet and raised over £1,000 for Guild Care. Facing her fears head-on, she demonstrated unwavering determination in her commitment to support the organization’s invaluable cause.

A prominent skydive to raise funds

In her own words, Kerri Sparrowe shared her motivation, saying, “I had seen that Guild Care had advertised the opportunity for people to participate in a sponsored skydive. This had always been on my bucket list. I was immediately tempted. I mulled over the idea for about six months, mainly due to the fear of the unknown. However, I impulsively decided that if I didn’t do it now, I never would. As they say, you only live once!”

Kerri, not only did a wonderful thing for herself but this event set a benchmark for others. Skydiving is not everyone’s cup of tea. Going through hardships for a good cause, brings an immense feeling of joy.

This includes her colleagues at Haviland House, who have expressed their eagerness to undertake their skydives in the future to benefit Guild Care. Reflecting on her fundraising journey, Kerri expressed her gratitude. She went on to speak about how amazing the journey has been and how much support she had during this adventure. Kerri still cannot believe that she had raised such a good amount for Guild Care. She also mentioned that people were already asking what her next adventure would be like?
