Last Thursday, a fatal force of nature hit the slopes of Mont Blanc. An avalanche descended upon the off-piste slopes of the Saint-Gervais-les-Bains ski resort at an altitude of 7,545 feet, leading to deadly consequences. The gripping news was brought to the forefront by the administrative department of the Haute-Savoie region.
Immediately after the avalanche, dozens of mountain rescuers bravely ventured into the perilous aftermath to save the trapped skiers and hikers. But soon, the stark reality of the devastating incident became evident. They rescued the dead bodies of a man and a woman. Another hiker was rescued by the team, who was severely injured.
