Justine Lindsay is the NFL’s first open transgender cheerleader. The thirty-year-old cheerleader brings an additional dimension to her profession. Family Members Have Finally Accepted the Reality

The family members of Justine have accepted the reality and have made peace with it. Moreover, the entire family drives all the way from North and South Carolina to watch the games. However, in the initial stages, things did not look smooth for Justine and her family. Lindsay , grew up in Charlotte Suburb of Dilworth. She spent playing games with other cousins and older siblings. Justine’s father, a former college football player, hoped she would follow in the footsteps, but destiny had different plans.
Justine’s mother was the one who introduced her to ballet. Recently speaking to Elle, Justine shared her experience about her struggles.
“He never really understood why I wanted to dance,” Lindsay says of her father. “He was like, ‘Is that who you are?’”

“When I told my mom, she was like, ‘Okay, well, can you help me put my lashes on now?’” Lindsay remembers. “I think my dad always knew, but there was a denial stage, which every parent, whether you’re the mother or the father, will have. It’s that moment of, ‘Oh, my God, I don’t want this for my child.’”

Justine Lindsay not only fulfilled her own dream but also paved the way for others as well. She has had her own share of struggles but never gave up on her dreams.
