Dolly Parton has set the stage on fire. After a huge build-up by the Dallas Cowboys cheerleading team on Instagram, the D-day finally arrived and Parton performed! The halftime show at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas was a spectacle to be remembered for a lifetime. The cheering crowds and the wowed America’s Sweethearts were proof that age is just a number and Parton can still slay at 77. One of the biggest highlights of the show was Dolly Parton’s attire. She sported the Dallas Cowboys’ cheerleading uniform and made the fans go into a frenzy. 

Unfortunately, even as eminent personalities seemed awestruck by the evergreen performer, some lashed out sparking a controversy. Luckily, they were shunned by a 68-year-old American comedy legend. NFL Thanksgiving done right with legend Dolly Parton 

The Dallas Cowboys’ annual ritual of hosting a Thanksgiving game just got elevated to another level! This year, on November 23, the crowd witnessed one of the greatest NFL halftime shows when Dolly Parton took the stage. As she mesmerized the fans with her aura, the audience also danced to the tunes of some of her evergreen tracks. These included “9 to 5”, “Jolene”, “We will rock you”, and “We are the champions.” 

Parton chose to wear the Cowboys’ cheerleading dress that comprised of white shorts and a cropped vest with stars. Such a gesture from the legend melted the hearts of everyone. One of the cheerleaders stated that she could not fathom the fact that Parton dresses like one of them. Another former member of the team, Cindy Bennett spoke about the elegance and effortlessness with which Parton carried the attire. 

After such an electric performance, the team was bound to get charged up, and so they did. The Commanders were able to double the joy of the crowds by securing a 45-10 win over the Commanders. However, everything was not okay after the show. Some of the fans took to social media to express their resentment regarding Dolly Parton’s attire. 

Haters shunned down by Whoopi Goldberg

Somehow, the audience always finds a way to criticize, and this time, Dolly Parton’s attire was their target. Several fans lashed out at the singer for wearing a skimpy dress at 77. Some even went on to ask her to “act her age.” However, in a recent ‘Hot Topics’ section of ‘The View’, prominent comedian Whoopi Goldberg hit back at the haters.

She stated that people trying to demean such a great show must feel ashamed. Commenting on the matter, the 68-year-old said, “Bite me…Everybody that participated in this, you should be ashamed of yourself.”  Echoing Goldberg’s sentiments, co-host of the show Sunny Hostin stated that if she had looked like Parton wearing the dress, she would have definitely gone for it.  

Well, there might be indifferences and negativities. But one cannot deny the zeal and vibrance the 77-year-old legend still possesses that can enchant an army crowd and make them dance to their tunes. Long live Dolly Parton!
