Dolly Parton seems to have set in motion a frenzy that doesn’t seem to end! After her breathtaking Thanksgiving performance at the AT&T Stadium, a series of contrasting comments broke out on the internet. While most of the people heaped praises on the 77-year-old, a particular section of the community raised their eyebrows about Parton’s attire. Shunning down the haters, renowned American actress Christie Brinkley has recently lashed out while extending her warm support to the legend. 

It all started on November 23, on Thanksgiving day. As an annual ritual, the Dallas Cowboys hosted an NFL match against the Washington Commanders. Dolly Parton was invited to perform at the halftime show along with the Cowboys’ cheerleading team. Things apparently took a turn when Parton sported the attire of the Cowboys’ cheerleaders on the stage.

Donning the iconic blue crop top, starred jacket, and white shorts, Parton set the stage on fire. She went on to mesmerize the audience with her famous hits such as ‘Jolene.’ Unfortunately, the controversy broke out as some people thought wearing the cheerleading costume was not appropriate for the legend. They even asked Parton to act like her age!

Such a response was not well received by several stars. Christie Brinkley posted on Instagram recently to have her two cents on the matter. She stated that people who wanted Parton to act her age must keep quiet and sit down. Brinkley also said that Parton is such a personality who cannot be defined by her age. The American star also listed Parton’s unparalleled qualities as she wrote, “too numerous to count talents, her boundless good energy and effervescent humor, and her golden philanthropic heart full of love! And the fact that she can also rock a Dallas cheerleader outfit too is inspiring and fun!” 

Brinkley proceeded to take things up a notch by mentioning that she wishes to see Dolly Parton as the SI Swimsuit model soon. Now, that is quite a compliment for the legend. However, this is not the first time a renowned personality has commented on Parton’s attire fiasco. 

Whoopi Goldberg slammed Dolly Parton’s haters

During a recent ‘Hot Topic’ segment of ‘The View,’ Whoopi Goldberg discussed the matter relating to Parton and her costume. Infuriated at the entire controversy, Goldberg stated that people trying to degrade and demean a legend like Parton must feel ashamed. Doubling on the sentiments of Goldberg, the show’s co-host, Sunny Hostin stated that she would do anything to get a figure like Parton has at 77. Hostin also stated that if she looked as stunning as Parton did wearing the cheerleading outfit, she would have loved to wear it herself. 

Well, it seems like the entire world is rightfully amazed at the shenanigans of Dolly Parton at 77. However, people should always remember to respect and not make comments that go against the spirit of humanity.
