A dramatic showdown just concluded between the Los Angeles Clippers and the Utah Jazz last night. The Clippers found themselves on the losing end of a 120-118 nail-biter, marking their first defeat in the 2023-24 NBA season. This game was in complete contrast to their victorious season opener against the Trail Blazers.

The defining moment that caught the fans’ attention, however, came at the closing minute of the game. Russell Westbrook, the Clippers’ point guard, didn’t convert a potential shot. Had he made it, it would have been enough to push the game into overtime. However, this missed shot wasn’t the fan’s focus. It was Kawhi Leonard’s reaction to the miss. As Westbrook’s shot left his fingertips, Leonard fell to his knees, sparking a flurry of reactions.

In the closing seconds of the game, the Clippers trailed by two points. Kawhi was locked in by a defender and passed the ball to Russell. Westbrook received the ball on the right side of the court. After a couple of seconds, he had a prime opportunity to score a 2 pointer. However, as Westbrook’s shot unfolded, it became clear that he missed. Even before the shot made it near the hoops, Kawhi fell to his knees.? Fans were surprised at the reaction, shocked to see the disbelief that gripped Kawhi in the final moments.

Earlier, Leonard and Paul George had performed admirably for the Clippers. The duo combined to score 80 points for the team and were major reasons as to why the game even came close. Paul George, in particular, shone with 36 points on just 17 shot attempts.

However, Westbrook’s performance was lackluster at best. He contributed only four points and missed a game-tying shot. Despite this, fans began to blame Kawhi for the loss, especially after he fell on his knees.

In the video shared by Sportscenter, fans made their reactions very clear. “It?s his fault ?,” one fan said. However, it was this comment that summed up the situation the best – “Am I trippen or did he get locked up by a non defender waste the whole clock take a bad shot then get mad at Russ for grabbing the offensive rebound looking down court seeing he has no time and getting a shot off?”?

Another user commented, “Leonard wasted half the shot clock he better be mad at himself,”?while another commented, “Now he’s not gonna play for 2 weeks.”

In the clip, it is evident that Kawhi was trying his best to do something. Unfortunately, it is also evident that he was locked up and ate up a lot of time on the clock. Russ only had a little over two seconds to make his shot, and as fate would have it, he missed.?What do you think? Let us know!
