Covering an exhaustive distance of 486 kilometers, conquering 177 peaks, the journey of the mountain runner is synonymous with excellence. Among his record, he has accomplished all the peaks starting with a height of 3,000 meters. However, his Pyrenees climb with an elevation of 43,000 meters is “one of the most difficult climbs” according to Jornet. 

However, his recent accomplishment involves holding the fastest time speed record for climbing up and down different iconic peaks, including Mont Blanc and Matterhorn. Besides, he has the achievement of an impressive uphill skiing record within 24 hours under his possession. Besides the limited time revolving around the challenge, the staggering height of 23,864 meters elevation gain calls for attention.

About his climbing prowess, Jornet reiterated his memories associated with climbing with Gripped, “I had climbed these peaks when I was 13 but did not remember them, making this a visually intense experience.”

Even though Jornet has achieved innumerable challenges, excelling in breaking and creating records, his life has been exposed to precariousness. After continuing victory for four consecutive years, the famous mountain runner had to withdraw from the renowned Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc this year. The reason behind disengagement is the serious injury that Jornet suffered during the Eiger Trail race in Switzerland.
