In an adrenaline-fueled race at the Buddh International Circuit, the Moto3 category left spectators on the edge of their seats. Jaume Masia was stealing the spotlight with his victory. However, it was a massive crash that will be etched in the minds of racing enthusiasts.

On the final lap, a heart-stopping collision unfolded between Tatsuki Suzuki of Leopard Racing and VisionTrack’s Scott Ogden. The video footage reveals exactly how close of a call it was.

The Last Lap Drama

In the last lap, as racers thundered down the Buddh International Circuit, Jaume Masia was about to finish first. The real drama, however, was unfolding behind him.

Tatsuki Suzuki and Scott Ogden found themselves in a terrifying predicament. Birthday boy Suzuki, at the end of turn 12  had nowhere to go. He found himself unable to control the bike as he drove into Scott Ogden’s VisionTrack.

The collision took both the riders out, and Scott Ogden had to be immediately rushed to the hospital. The accident looked very horrific. It is by pure dumb luck that Suzuki’s Honda didn’t run over Ogden, missing him by mere inches.

Later, MotoGP Tweeted out saying authorities had declared Ogden fit. Both the racers ended the race with DNF. However, despite this, they’d count themselves lucky, that nothing serious transpired on the track.

Miraculously Unhurt

Despite the sheer ferocity of the collision, both Suzuki and Ogden emerged unscathed.

Spectators and fellow racers held their breath as the gravity of the situation sank in.

As the dust settled and the race came to a close, Jaume Masia celebrated his well-deserved victory. Interestingly, there was a very close fight for the remaining two podium spots, with Sasaki and Toba involved in an intense battle. Toba, despite being ahead of Sasaki was finding it extremely difficult to fend him off. By the time the chequered flag came down, Toba held on to P2 for his dear life.

The massive crash between Suzuki and Ogden is a wonderful example of the fine line that MotoGP riders tread in pursuit of victory. While Masia may have claimed the top spot on the podium, it was the heart-stopping collision that everyone will think of when looking back at the Moto3 race at the Buddh International Circuit.
