If you thought anything was impossible for the eleven time all-star, Mike Trout – you thought wrong. His skills in baseball are already well known to everyone, but what about his skills with a golf club? A couple of his videos, where he was captured playing golf at the TopGolf facility in Arizona has popped up on the internet. Let’s take a stroll down the memory lane.
300 Yard Drive in 2020
The first video which popped off was all the way back in 2020. Just before the pandemic set in, around March of 2020 – Los Angeles Angels tweeted out this video.

The caption “Mike Trout hitting rockets isn’t exclusive to the baseball field.” is aptly named. While the exact numbers on the drive are unknown, there were enough clues on the short clip for us to make an educated guess on how long it went.
We don’t know the exact speed of his club, or the exact distance the ball travelled, but it is extremely safe to say that it travelled well over 300 yards. The average range at TopGolf is somewhere around 250 yards, with the net being somewhere around 150 feet tall.
The video clearly showcased the ball not only travelling the distance, but with a height to clear the 150 feet high netting. This feat is absolutely astonishing for anyone who’s not breathing golf day in and day out.
If you thought this was the only time he amazed us all with his golfing skills, you would be wrong, again.
184 mph drive in 2023
Much recently, in January of 2023, he pretty much did a carbon copy of his 2020 feat, except arguably this time could be better. This time, we had a clear view of the insane numbers the home run hero put up. Clocking in at 184 mph, and a hang time of 5.3 seconds, this shot too, landed outside the premises.

Clocking in an astonishing height of 161 feet, the display didn’t give us an accurate reading for the carry, as it could only capture till 251 yards. This could again clear 300 yards being very careful with estimations, with some stating that the ball cleared near 450-yards.
Both the shots have a lot of similarities, and the second shot is definitively 10 mph faster than an average golf pro, according to the data produced by the PGA.
In a world where Mike isn’t absolutely killing it for the Los Angeles Angels, would we have seen him as a professional golfer? Do let us know down below!
