The Ann Arbor police, in an attempt to identify the people responsible, released a video on social media. They sought the assistance of people on campus to help identify the two students. The two were allegedly caught using spray paint near the Jewish Resource Center. Johnny Drukinis, one of the students in the video, was defacing the property with homophobic graffiti. On the other hand, Megan’s vandalism was a little less disturbing, which was simply her initials, ‘MEM’

This incident not only raised concerns about vandalism but also highlighted a larger issue of intolerance within the university community. The offensive graffiti left behind by Druskinis shocked many, emphasizing the importance of addressing hate speech and prejudice.

In response to the incident, the University of Michigan took swift action. The hockey program was quick to suspend Johnny from the roster.  The institution is committed to holding its athletes accountable for their actions. However, any action or lack thereof against Minturn is fuelling speculations on that front.

A Michigan spokesperson stated, “Johnny Druskinis is no longer on the Michigan Hockey roster, following a violation of team rules.”  Apart from this suspension, it looked like Druskinis might very well face legal repercussions as well.

However, both students escaped all legal ramifications. The director of the Jewish Resource Center, Rabbi Fully Eisenberger refrained from pressing charges.
