Jumping out of an airplane is no easy feat. It takes courage and a cool head to ensure that things go just right enough for you to make a safe and predictable landing. So, trying to pull off a 13,000-foot dive for charity is almost twice as heartwarming as simply raising the money would be. Here’s a story with just the right amount of adrenaline and kindness.
Local radio host Amanda Holden proved that she had absolutely no aversion to heights when she jumped off a plane at 13,000 feet in her latest charity challenge. The move was a part of Global’s Make Some Noise challenge. Amanda is undertaking five challenges in five days to raise money for various causes with her correspondent Ashley Roberts.

Amanda has been performing incredible feats of grace and focus for charity regularly. Only this week, she joined The Wings Parachute Display Team, specializing in epic aerial displays. The radio host herself performed her display almost flawlessly. She jumped out of a plane with the team, who were armed with smoke canisters and a heart flag, creating an epic formation in the sky. Holden has already climbed Blackpool Tower while presenting her breakfast show for charity, which has been dubbed Race Against Time.

Despite the heights, Holden seemed very comfortable scaling the Blackpool Tower. In fact, she even had a moment to herself when she posed for a photo with her arms in the air. Quite the fitness freak, the 52-year-old even managed to reach all the way to the top and touch the flagpole in an impressive 57 minutes and 59 seconds. “Everything I seem to have chosen to do is height related…it’s a thrill, but there is that terror. But I’m going to say it was thrilling,” Holden said.

Holden said she finds the experience amazing, albeit terrifying and odd while her legs are dangling off the plane.“I was absolutely terrified, my knees and legs went to jelly. You sort of learn to trust the equipment,” she added.
Reaction to the Dive
The daredevil claimed that she came close to fainting after the dive – a first for her. She also said she was absolutely terrified while performing the jump but she did with Global’s Make Some Noise charity. “Just donations, that’s all we need, this is for Global’s Make Some Noise, it’s honestly the most terrifying thing I’ve ever done in my life, and I’ve done it for all those small charities,” she said. She strongly urged people to donate to the causes and help make a difference.
