However, one local couple, Alicia and Crystal Blakely, chose to elevate their special day to new heights by hiking to the summit of Camel’s Hump, making their wedding unique and memorable. They hiked to the third-highest mountain in the state, all while donning their wedding dresses!

Instead of exchanging their vows in a conventional rustic barn or a traditional wedding venue, this adventurous pair embarked on an extraordinary journey. Alicia and Crystal hiked to Camel’s Hump, over 4,000 feet in Huntington, for a one-of-a-kind elopement ceremony.

Their love story began a decade ago when they met as college freshmen. Their love for hiking grew so strong that they decided to make it a central theme in their wedding ceremony after conquering the Long Trail.

Alicia Blakely shared, “We always knew we wanted to hike in our wedding dresses. We figured since you only wear your wedding dress once, we might as well make the most of it and not worry if they got dirty.”

On the 30th of September, the couple tied the knot. It happened at the summit of Camel’s Hump, with the magnificent backdrop of the fall foliage enveloping the mountain.

Alicia expressed, “Camel’s Hump has always been our favorite mountain in Vermont, so we knew that it was the perfect place for our ceremony. We lucked out that the weather that day was gorgeous and the trail was dry. We know how muddy the Vermont trails can be.”

In a report by NBC5, When they were asked for advice for couples contemplating a similar adventure-themed ceremony, they recommended going on practice hikes before the big day and choosing a lightweight dress. Alicia summed up their experience as “magical.” She added, “The day was perfect, and having clear views from the summit made our ceremony feel even more special. For anyone that has this idea, we say just go for it!”
