After a meat grinder accident led to Binder grappling in pain, the unfortunate teen had to relearn doing daily chores using only his left hand. While he was stuck in the machine for three dreadful hours, no one could imagine how much he suffered. But nothing could deter the young man’s zest for life, as he emerged from all hurdles with unparalleled mental strength.

While using a welder to attach knives at the end of his prosthetic arms, he even began doing construction work, building a deck, and taking a full-time job at The Lumber Yard. Showcasing his bold stance of never giving up, Binder seemingly had a history of brave-hearted ventures, including his hiking trip of 460 miles

Apparently, he was just 14 when he planned this venture, hiking along the Pacific Crest Trail without company. And if that was not extraordinary enough, the courageous boy had even helped a hiker when he was 15, rescuing them from the rugged terrains of Mount Jefferson. As always, Binder proved that slowing down is never an option, even during his personal battles.

Audacious thrill-seeker defies all odds

Disregarding his limited abilities, the ever-energetic hiking enthusiast planned a remarkable driving tour in May while crafting solutions to assist his daily routines. Notably, Binder also traversed across Canada, Montana, Idaho, and eastern Washington. While embracing the wild hiking routes, his spirit soared as he continued camping along the way, reaffirming an indomitable will to conquer any obstacle.

Subsequently, the adventure addict also joined a teen group in August during their backpacking trip, hoping to test if he could ever climb mountains again. As he navigated through struggles in tying his hiking boots, Binder found a solution for this setback as well, ordering a new pair without laces.

And with such determination to make the best out of his barriers, the hiking lover planned a year-long mission, hoping to raise around $500 for this dream to become real. Emphasizing her son’s undeniable persistence, Laura Binder recalled how brutal his encounter was, while mentioning the teen’s admirable optimism amidst all odds. Echoing his renewed spirits, Laura remarked, “Now we’re onto the good stuff. Now there’s hope.”
