People all over the world take up unique challenges for themselves. Some individuals take up challenges for their own reasons, while others take up challenges for diverse reasons. One such individual is Sam Soholt. Sam wants to challenge himself to hike 100 miles in order to raise money for wetland conservation.

Sam plans to raise around 1,00,000 for wetland conservation. He initially planned to do the challenge alone. However, now he is open to anyone joining him. A challenge taken up for a noble cause should be successful.

A lot of preparation has gone into the challenge

According to Sam, he is very serious regarding the challenge. He has been putting in a lot of effort for the upcoming challenge. While speaking to Valleynews Sam said, “For the last 5 or 6 months I’ve been training for this, it’s a lot of miles and a lot of pounding on the feet,”

“I’ve been carrying a 40 pound pack, for around three to five to seven miles a day,”

“For the last four years we’ve done what’s called the stamp it forward project, it’s just a way to raise a bunch of money, and over the last four years, we’ve raised just shy of 150,000 dollars to buy federal duck stamps to put that money into wetland habitat,”

Hiking as a sport is very demanding on the body. It’s good to see that a planned preparation has gone into the challenge. Hiking 100 miles is not easy and can have detrimental effect if not prepared. However, the challenge will help Sam to raise a considerable amount for Wetland Habitat. Wetland habitat is an important part of the ecosystem and we should take steps to conserve it.

People should come forward and help

As Sam already mentioned about wanting people joining him in the challenge. It will be great if people can come forward and join him at the event. The more people join the challenge, it will help Sam to collect more money. Also, a lot of effort has gone into the challenge and it should not fail.

However, not many people take up a challenge to help the ecosystem. Sam has worked really hard for this and participating in it is the least we can do. Hopefully, a good bunch of people turn up for the event and help to make it a successful one.
