Have you ever been rebuked for making an expensive Apple watch purchase? Well, the watch can apparently have the ability to save your life on its own. This is a true story of a man from Georgia, who fell into a cliff, broke his bones, and still managed to save his life courtesy of his Apple Watch!

Mike Menand is a resident of Roswell, Georgia. He is an avid hiker and loves to go on solo adventures. However, this time, he decided to take both of his dogs along with him. While this might seem like a very adorable step in the first place, it was these very dogs who unknowingly almost had their masters dead. Let’s get into a deep dive and see what miracle the smartwatch performed.

Menand decided to hike in the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area earlier this year in April. To have some company on the way, he decided to tag his beloved pets, Sugar and Cinnamon along with him. The day of their hike arrived and the three musketeers arrived at their location. Initially, the hike was going great with all three of them enjoying the serene landscape and immersing themselves in the tranquil and beautiful essence of Mother Nature.

However, little did they know that their joy would be short-lived. Soon, things took a harrowing turn when both of Menand’s dogs saw something in the distance. Immediately after spotting a movement, Cinnamon and Sugar took off aggressively. This was very much uncalled for and the sudden tug made Menand lose his balance. He tumbled down with a loud thud down the cliff and as he hit the ground, he was in excruciating pain.

Menand knew fully well that he had to get immediate medical attention in order to survive. Unfortunately, the terrain was too forlorn for any human contact to be made instantly. Most miraculously, his Apple Watch came to his rescue. No sooner had Menand fallen down, than the sudden change in heartbeat made the programming of the watch detect that there was a fall. With some simple taps, Menand was able to inform the medical team nearby and get himself out of trouble. However, a similar incident made Menand thank his stars and Tim Cook later.

After his watch acted as his savior, Menand was taken to the hospital. He was treated for a broken femur and made a full recovery. However, another development near the same spot made the Georgia resident realize how lucky he was.

A 46-year-old woman from Sandy Springs suffered the same fate as Menand did. Unfortunately, she could not call for help and eventually succumbed to the harsh wilderness. Terrified, Menand thanked Tim Cook and his company for coming up with technology that potentially serves as life-saving.
