Heart-Stopping San Mateo Incident As Car Takes Flight And Crashes Into a House

Imagine you’re sipping on a hot cup of coffee, watching your favorite TV show or reading the newspaper early in the morning and suddenly a car crashes into your house. Sounds like a scene straight out of a movie, right? Well, the people in the San Mateo neighborhood can certainly say that they’ve lived the scenario out in real life.

In the wee hours of Friday morning, A Tesla crashed into a San Mateo house after the driver lost control of the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle hit an embankment as she lost control of the vehicle. It flew over a swimming pool and crashed into a house that luckily, at the time of the accident, had no one inside it!

San Mateo people wake up to bizarre crash

The 70-year-old driver of the Tesla stated that she lost complete control of the vehicle as she entered the area of Murphy and Ashwood drives. They were coming down a hill and hit the embankment which then unfurled into an accident that one gets to hear or watch only in action or comedy movies.

The driver and passenger in the car, both women, escaped with only minor injuries to themselves. Officials transferred them to the nearest hospital, where they were treated for their injuries.

Speaking to the media after the surprising crash, the daughter of the homeowner Doria Charlson was thankful that her mother was not in the house. The bizarre accident could have turned into a massive tragedy, but she was glad that nothing of that sort took place. She also expressed gratitude upon learning that both the women involved in the accident were safe and sound.

“I’ve lived here for almost 30 years and have had no cars flying into our backyard before,” Charlson said. “Overwhelmingly, our family is just really glad that no one got hurt, which is pretty miraculous if you saw the car behind me.”

Home wrecker just found a new candidate

San Mateo police officer Jeremi Surrat informed the media about the details of the crash. The whole incident took him by surprise as well. “You don’t normally see a car flying through the air over a swimming pool into a house,” Surratt said. “That is kind of a new thing.”

Investigations about the accident are underway and they will also check to see if the vehicle malfunctioned at the time of the crash or was it just down to simple human error.

Neighbours in the area spoke about how the lady in the house would sit in her yard and sip her coffee, but as fate would have it, she didn’t venture out that morning.

The whole incident is as bizarre as it can get. As they say, there’s a first time for everything. Dorothy and her family will be counting their stars and thanking the heavens that the lady house owner was not inside at the time of the crash. A major crisis averted.
