For a good cause, some developing projects are appreciated by everyone. However, sometimes there are scenarios when a project cannot be accepted due to genuine concerns and protests are organized in that regard.
Following close on the heels, an incident took place at Studio City when the people of the place retaliated against the conversion of their quiet place into a complex. The place is actually a Golf course which is unarguably very peaceful, and the residents don’t wish to be perturbed by a brash complex in the same vicinity.
A project that converts golf courses into athletic complexes

The Hardwood Westlake School finalized the deal on the land back in 2019 which cost them $40 million. They bought the property with the intention to build new soccer fields, a gym, running track, picnic area and much more.
They made the initiative thinking it would bring opportunities to the youngsters around the city. However, people do not seem to support the project. There are allegations and reasons that the project will turn the place into a noisy area and would ruin the peace that was settled in the area all this while.
After Severe resistance, Westlake Authorities make a Statement
In an official statement, the corporation addressed the resistance, “The River Park represents a wonderful opportunity for Studio City. Replacing the 3-par golf course and driving range with new soccer fields, a running track, a gym, a pool, tennis courts, a picnic area, and a walking trail that will be open for community use.”

“A Superior Court judge already ruled against project opponents. We’re hopeful that the City will approve the River Park. It can become a treasured place for our Studio City community.”

Since the court has made the decision in the favour of the school authorities, there are not enough chances for the protesters to make any difference in the decision. The school authorities claim that the project will ensure no harm is done to the environment. However, the feelings are not the same in the city residents about the whole scenario. After the decision from the court, it looks like there would be an athletic complex that would provide opportunities to the upcoming generation.
