You must have heard the news about a 4-year-old girl in San Antonio who went missing from her home during a family gathering. Well, there’s another sad news to share!

The devastating discovery of the girl’s body in a swimming pool

Last week, a San Antonio family filed a police complaint about their 4-year-old kid missing for 30 minutes. The police quickly began searching the area. And, just a little while later, they found her lifeless body face down in the swimming pool in the backyard of the house.

The officers didn’t hesitate and immediately tried to save her life. They performed life-saving measures and rushed her to the hospital. She even coughed up water on one of the officers. But unfortunately, despite their best efforts, it was too late. Ultimately, she was pronounced deceased on arrival at the hospital.

The SAPD police officer Seargent Washington Moscoso said, “This might have been accidental and we are not pressing charges against anyone right now. But the investigation is going on.”

What happened earlier?

At approximately 8:05 p.m. on a Wednesday evening, the San Antonio Police Department swiftly responded to an urgent call from the 9100 block of Ocean Gate. The distressing report indicated that a precious 4-year-old girl had gone missing from her home, and her worried family had not laid eyes on her for an agonizing half-hour.

The family, comprising 15 members, had been enjoying an outdoor gathering when the little girl managed to slip away unnoticed. Realizing her absence, they immediately initiated a frantic search before finally reaching out to the authorities for assistance.

The unfortunate girl has been identified as Jazida Hernandez Cervera, as confirmed by the Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office and reported by KSAT.

This tragic incident highlights the critical importance of pool safety, especially when kids are around.
