In a short video featuring an interview with the renowned director posted by the YouTube channel “OutstandingScreenplays”, Tarantino placed his opinion on the current films. The iconic films of the Hollywood industry being his brainchild, his experience garnered him critical acclaim paired with a dedicated fan following.
The video has captured Tarantino in a candid moment where he places his views that Hollywood cinema exhibits duality. All this while, he has openly demonstrated his appreciation for certain films along with his disdain for others. However, in recent times he has refrained from being a flagbearer, cheerleading for his favorite films.
According to the YouTube Shorts video, Tarantino said, “I’ve seen a few things but I don’t really want to talk about new stuff. I don’t want to say anything bad about anybody else’s movie because that’s me like attacking them like an ambush. And I’m not here to cheerlead for anybody else’s sh*t either. Directors can’t talk about bad about anybody else’s stuff. That’s unfair. So everything is about cheerleading. I’m f*cking tired of cheerleading.”

During the interview, Tarantino came up with a unique ideology. He has shed light on the cyclical nature of the world of cinema drawing parallels with the oscillation of a pendulum stating the fact that eras go through ebbs and flows denoting the oscillation of a pendulum.
As per his perspective, since the 50s was marked by significant repression as far as the movie industry was concerned, the movies of the 60s performed a bit better. However, the 70s got submerged under the darkness of repression, and the alternative trend continued. About the 90s, Tarantino stated, “I mean I lived through the 90s making movies in the 90s. I didn’t consider the 90s the 70s part two, but it was. On retrospect it absolutely was. Now the pendulum has swung this way again.” The man behind the classic “Reservoir Dogs” now waits for a shift in the tides.
