Eight-Year-Old Franklin Prodigy Clinches Another World Champion Cowboy Title

If you love bull riding, then you must have heard of the youth world bull riding championship. Today, we’ve got an extraordinary tale to share about a young cowboy who has taken the world by storm. Meet Dailen Mize, the fearless eight-year-old Franklin cowboy, who amazed the crowds at the Youth Bull Riding World Finals.

A rising star’s journey in bull riding

Last year, Dailen Mize made headlines as he clinched the 2022 World Champion Mutton Bust’n title in his last year of eligibility. This year he has to transition to riding calves due to age eligibility criteria. However, despite facing larger and stronger stock, he displayed remarkable adaptability and nearly secured back-to-back world titles.

At Youth Bull Riding World Championship, judges gave points to both his performances based on both his ability to stay atop the bull and the calf’s level of difficulty. While some calves might have been less aggressive, Dailen never made excuses for himself and rode with sheer tenacity.

In the finals, there was fierce competition between Dailen and his rodeo buddy, Matteo Composto, hailing from Houston. In the end, Dailen emerged as the Reserve World Champion, securing a well-deserved second place out of 62 talented riders.

Dailen adds another title to his collection at such a young age

With the latest Reserve World Champion title, Dailen has now won 15 youth titles in bull riding. He will start his third grade at Roland Reynolds Elementary School in Franklin. Imagine going to your school after such an achievement.

The Youth Bull Riders World Finals commenced in 2007. It aims to bring together young riders from far and wide, including the talented Jack Mitchell from Weatherford, who competed in Junior Bull Riding. This championship was founded on the belief that dreams can come true when kids are given something to believe in.
