Dramatic Mountain Rescue Unfolds as Injured Climber Awaits Heroic Helicopter Hoist near Idyllwild

However, along the lines of breathtaking beauty, mother nature also comes with its perils. 

A recent incident that has come to light has left a somber tinge on what was supposed to be a thrilling expedition. An unexpected occurrence cost a mountain climber dear as he was left nursing a serious injury. Today’s story will be a true testament to the fact of how unpredictable life can be and how one must always have that extra sense of carefulness at every step. 

Mountain Climbing accident calls for a special airlift

According to an article published on News Channel 3, a gruesome fate transpired for one of the climbers in Idyllwild. The report stated that a man was hiking the eastern region of San Bernardino National Forest. He was with his group and everything seemed fine until the unexpected happened. In the most unfortunate manner, the person had a slip and in turn, suffered a fractured ankle. 

As soon as the news reached the Riverside County Fire Department, a huge rescue mission was launched. The mission included members of the sheriff’s personnel as well as firefighters. The news about the victim was communicated at roughly around 2 p.m. As the rescue party attempted to airlift the injured person, a STAR-9 helicopter of the Sheriff was requested for the same. As we pray for the speedy recovery of the person, the exact identity remains undisclosed.

As time went by, and it was more than two hours that she did not return home, her family was put into a gripping situation. They failed to connect her and thus sought help from the rescue team.

The Hawaii firefighters started their rescue operation and after about an hour she was found waving for help atop a ridge. She was picked up on a helicopter from Nanakuli.
