In a recently released statement from the Tasmania Police, a tragedy was reported at the King Island on Sunday. According to the reports, one man died as he embarked on a diving escapade with his friends on the island. The reports further clarified the details of the man, who was an interstate visitor and whose age was disclosed to be 43 years old.

Free diving goes wrong for Tasmanian

The 43-year-old man went for a free diving adventure with his friends on Sunday. However, little was he aware of the gruesome fate that awaited him. After getting on with the dive, the man was said to have experienced struggles while inside the water. As the man began to drown, his friends did not waste time and informed the emergency services. The medical team approached the Johnson Rock at Currie as fast as they could at around 11:30 am.
The man was being given CPR by his friends, but there was no response. Ultimately, the inevitable happened, and he was declared dead by the team. Soon after the incident came to light, the Tasmanian police department extended their condolences to the man’s family. They stated in an official statement, “Our thoughts are with the man’s family and friends.”
Following the tragic event of the drowning, it must be noted that such incidents are not uncommon in recent times. There have been accounts of accidental drownings that have led to the untimely demise of several men.

According to reports, this 43-year-old diver was the latest to join the list of a dozen drowning mishaps in Australia this summer. Recently, a man drowned to his death on the Central Coast of New South Wales on Saturday. Likewise, a Christmas tragedy followed when a man met his sad end at the Umina Beach on December 25.

In a separate incident, a 26-year-old Winston-Salem resident Jose Moises Ramirez-Olivera tragically passed away after drowning. The man was allegedly taking swimming lessons with his family when the incident occurred.
