Defying All Odds, 11-Year-Old from Canada Wins Four Gold Medals at World Dwarf Games

Sometimes a human is put into situations that are out of their control. Being a special child is something relevant to this aspect. At the end of the day, all that matters is having a positive mindset and following your dreams with as much passion and perseverance.

One similar situation was faced by Declan Forcier. During his birth, the doctors informed about his dwarfism and the life that comes with it. Declan didn’t think about it for once and gave it all to the things he loved. He finally gets to participate in the World Dwarf Games and what he did there is nothing short of extraordinary.

An 11-year-old boy from Canada with dwarfism didn’t take it negatively ever. He had passion for sports and his confidence stood out. He played baseball as well as ice hockey. It made him come into the eyes of the selectors, and he finally got an invitation to participate in the World Dwarf Games.

However, there was one such condition, there was no ice hockey or baseball in those games. Declan had to go through a completely new set of challenges to prove himself. Declan participated in the World Dwarf Games in Germany and then proves that nothing is impossible for him.

The extraordinary performance

No matter what the game threw at him, he excelled at everything. He returned from the world games with seven medals out of which four medals were pure gold. This made him a pure gold athlete as well.

During an interview, his mother, Tammy, says that it was just a matter of time when he went from no one to someone that Canada is proud of. “World champion” is the term that still surprises her. The happiness and pride on her face for her kid are visible.

Declan sets a beautiful example for those who feel their insecurities are overpowering their capabilities. It’s all your mind playing the game. If you feel like you want something, then your determination will surely get you there. No amount of insecurities or negativity will stop you if you have a persistent will to achieve something. Declan is now a popular name in Canada and he is all set to keep representing his country in sports and show the world that nothing can stop you in these modern times of surplus opportunities.
