The recently concluded Saitama Criterium witnessed history. After triumphing in the Tour De France twice, in 2020 and 2021, Tadej Poga?ar conquered the criterium too. Poga?ar showed glimpses of his immense talent as he whizzed past other challengers on the 59.5 km stretch. The 25-year-old cyclist defeated the likes of Peter Sagan and Sepp Kuss to emerge triumphant.?
However, amidst all the confetti, just like the setting sun, an era of Poga?ar?s career also went down. This was the last time we could catch a glimpse of the vibrant Slovenian on the Saitama Criterium. This would also be the last we get to see the iconic white jersey of Poga?ar.
The Slovenian competed wearing the white jersey that he won at Tour De France. The jersey was given to the Best Young Rider of the tournament, which the 25-year-old won.
