A sight to behold for every cycling enthusiast out there, women donning colourful outfits are all set to grace the streets as part of the Fancy Women Bike Ride. This started from an online post and now has spread its root in more than a dozen of countries.

It started in Turkey back in 2013. Just 300 women and a bunch of journalists participated in the fancy women bike ride that was posted online. This event was successful in three cities and then it gradually grew. Right now it is a big hit globally and the number of people participating in this event is expected to be big.

The current numbers reflect that there are over 150 rides which are getting organised throughout 24 countries. This alone stands as an example of its influence worldwide.

One of the organisers at these fancy women’s bike rides, Selamawit Czebotar, shared her thoughts, “I first heard about FWBR on social media while I was still new to riding my cargo bike around NYC,” she says. “My first impression was what a beautiful and peaceful way to engage local communities to take part in positive change. Global warming isn’t a myth but we live in a culture that celebrates and paves the way for cars without giving people a lot of transportation options. Especially, commuting by bicycle.”

Cycling has been the choice of many in recent times. There has been a man who is travelling 50,000 km to explore and to make people aware of low carbon slow travel.

Ex- Tesla employee goes on a cycling  journey

Benjamin Parent is the 36-year-old individual who had formerly worked with Tesla. He is now going to cycle nearly 50,000 km around the world. Benjamin intends to raise awareness about pollution as to how can people slow travel with low carbon. His travel will include multiple stays. He would document the ideas and the modifications required to reduce pollution in society.

Just like Benjamin is about to bring so much positivity, this fancy woman bike ride, on September 17 will bring extreme joy and beauty. A number of people are expected to be a part of this enormous event. With all women sporting their ever-growing spirit and their infectious energy, the colorful vibes are sure to raise the entertainment quotient of the event by a notch or two.
