Adding to his misery, the alleged driver who caused the stinging death was charged with a fine, a move which he speculated, stating, “I think that kind of penalty just shows somehow, we don’t respect life.” Evidently, the accused had to pay $2000, alongside a sentence of 150 hours of community service. Although the punishment was an ultimatum as per Maryland laws, Dan could not hold any longer, attempting to bring about a change on his own.
