VIDEO: Vuelta a Guatemala Triumph Turns Topsy-Turvy, Victory Dance Leads to Epic Cycling Fiasco

It is not a good practice to celebrate before you cross the finish line! Unfortunately, the team members of Decoba-ASO Quetzaltenango apparently did not know that and learned it the hard way. The incident happened at the recently held Vuelta a Guatemala 2023, where the cycling team almost crossed the finish line when they had a great fall. The cheers of the crowd grew louder as cyclists whizzed past the finish line one by one. Commentators also looked excited while narrating the live and jovial scenes of the event. All of these, quite against the run of play, came to a screeching halt. 

The moment one member of Decoba-ASO tumbled, everybody knew it was a red flag. It indeed ended up as a massacre of gargantuan proportions as the entire squad had difficulty keeping their balance. Surprisingly, even after this horrible debacle, the team secured their victory. Thanks to one of their teammates who managed to slip out of the chaos- Gerson Toc. 

Alex Julajuj allegedly triggers cycling blunder

The Guatemala race was one of the best ones for Gerson Toc and his team. They defied all the odds to secure victory and approached the finish line with great enthusiasm. Four of the riders remained behind with Toc leading the pack. With the cheering getting louder with each passing second, the riders decided to immerse themselves in the moment. This was one of the biggest mistakes they made that could have saved them from embarrassment.

A relaxed Alex Julajuj was seen riding with one hand on Gerson Toc’s shoulder and the other on his bar. Carried away by the audience’s excitement, he took his hands off the bar and tried to place it on the shoulders of Henry Sam. This was the final nail in the coffin as Julajuj lost his balance, tumbled, and brought the downfall for his entire squad, except Toc.

Gerson Toc evaded the mass collision and went on the finish line, marking the end of a great outing for his team. Although the finishing did not go as expected, one cannot take away the hard work the entire squad put up throughout the race to clinch victory. 

The video shared by ‘El Hombre Noticia’ received more than 26k views and 100 likes at the time of writing this article. Fans shared their thoughts in the comment section.
