Unpredictability that comes in the way of pre-season racing

As the Twitter video of Merlier’s balancing act on the beach went viral, fans drew parallels to similar incidents that took place during the recent World Cup. During that event, the cyclocross riders came in contact with geese on the course. However, coming in contact with another vehicle other than a cycle, added a layer of unpredictability to Merlier’s performance.

It was the cyclist’s adaptability to stand out even at the face of dire circumstances that showcases the skills of professional riders. In an otherwise seemingly carefree atmosphere, the incident sparked speculation about the drama that awaits in the world of traditional road racing. Amidst encountering unexpected hurdles, Merlier grabbed the first place and emerged victorious with a picture-perfect finish.
