Athletes know the 213-kilometer Paris-Tours race for its challenging course and gravel sectors. This makes it a true test of endurance and skill. As the race neared its conclusion, Lewis Askey of Groupama-FDJ seemed poised for victory after a courageous solo effort. However, Sheehan, the 23-year-old American, had other plans.

Sheehan seized the opportunity when Joris Delbove of St Michel – Mavic – Auber93 initiated the final sprint. With determination and a well-timed burst of speed, Sheehan surged ahead, leaving Askey and Tobias Halland Johannessen of Uno-X in his wake. Sheehan’s sprint prowess was undeniable, and he crossed the finish line first, securing his first professional win in stunning fashion.

“This is special, this is everything. This could be a big start for me, having a big win like this in a special race is phenomenal. I’m speechless,” said Sheehan. “It was brutal [the finish], I knew at 2km to go that we were just about to make it and I was able to give some wheels away and I was in perfect position.”
