Organizers have paused stage eight of the Tour Of Britain because of road accident issues further up the route. According to a report, a road accident has occurred in the town of Treorchy. The damage caused by the accident is yet to be known. However, the authorities have started the emergency services. Air ambulance has also been called upon to the spot.

The organizers ushered the riders to the side of the road with 83 kms left in the course. Also, the organizers published a brief message mentioning all the details. The race will restart after the issues get solved.

Loss of Momentum for the Leaders

Prior to the contest being stopped, a group of six men were leading the trial. The group included Oliver Wood of the Great Britain cycling team, Max Walker of Trinity racing team, Casper Van Uden of the DSM-Firmenich team, TDT-Unibet?s Abram Stockman, James Fouche of the Bolton Equities Black Spoke and Bingoal WB?s Johan Meens.

The team leading the competition? at the Tour Of Britain had an advantage of 2 minutes before they put the race to hold. The cyclists looked to keep themselves warm post that. They pulled out their jackets, arm warmers and other wet weather clothing and waited patiently for the event to start.

The race had 74 kms to go before the stoppage happened. Moreover, this issue hampered the momentum of the leading group. After it gets re-started, it will be interesting to see as to how the teams catch up. Also, whether the team which is leading will come up with something new will be worth waiting for.

Race Restarted After 2:00 PM in the Afternoon

The race got delayed for about 35 minutes and the organizers worked hard to fix the problem. However, with the efforts of the organizers, the event started after 2:00 pm. With only 74 kms to go, the cyclists were desperate to keep the momentum going. The contest began at an incredible pace and the leader group looked to maintain their pace.

According to the reports of Cycling Weekly, the race went down to the wire and all the cyclists worked hard to try to win. However, at the end, Carlos Rodriguez (Ineos Grenadiers) went on to win the stage with a solo attack. On the other hand, Wout van Aert (Jumbo- Visma) claimed the overall title with a margin of three seconds. This is the Tour of Britain’s 19th edition that was being conducted from September 3 to September 10 visiting England and Wales en route.
