French cyclist Benjamin Le Ny had a sour experience recently as he survived an attempted robbery. The incident happened on December 23rd, 2023, when the 24-year-old was undergoing a practice session. Soon after the practice, a group of robbers attacked Le Ny, while trying to steal a prized possession- his bicycle. However, the Frenchman, recently victorious in the Tour De Guadeloupe, exhibited exceptional presence of mind. 

Le Ny’s quick thinking let him escape the clutches of the robbers and also helped him walk away from the fearful altercation unharmed. So, what did the cyclist do to evade danger? Let’s dive in deep and unfold the mystery below. 

French cyclist escapes robbery attempt in broad daylight 

As the robbers were in hot pursuit, Le Ny kept a cool head. While most would have panicked, the 24-year-old quickly sought shelter at a nearby gas station. Luckily, he found an able ally in the store manager. The manager took him in and also ensured that his bicycle was unharmed. Unfortunately, the robbers were desperate, which paved the way for a vicious physical confrontation between the two parties.

Most shockingly, the miscreants traded several blows to the cyclist. Fortunately, none of them resulted in a major injury thanks to Le Ny’s cycling helmet. The high-quality gear proved to be strong enough to hold off the brutal onslaught from the robbers. As the fight came to an end, the Frenchman escaped with minor injuries. 

Benjamin Le Ny later narrated his recent experience on social media while thanking the ones who helped him get out of the unexpected chaos.

The cyclist expressed his gratitude to the gas station manager for securing his expensive bicycle. He stated that without the timely intervention of the man, Le Ny would not have been able to protect his machinery. 

Further, Benjamin Le Ny also thanked the local police department for their prompt response. The officers arrived at the crime scene quickly and assisted to ensure a smooth rescue. Undoubtedly, this was one of the worst experiences in the recently crowned Tour De Guadeloupe champion. However, his unexpected allies made sure that he overcame the hurdle unscathed while continuing on his glittering cycling journey ahead.
