Reportedly, the vehicle was towing a trailer, which ultimately led to Mackenzie’s imbalanced fall. The incident left Christina battered and bruised, while the ruthless driver was nowhere to be seen, igniting a hit-and-run tragedy. Despite wearing a yellow hi-vis jacket and having front and rear lights, the cycling enthusiast failed to avoid the crash, leaving her lying on a roundabout in excruciating pain.
With four fractures to her pelvis, the situation painted a grim picture of her road back to track. From the confines of a hospital bed, Mackenzie faced the stark reality of being unable to move for three days. As the first three months of her recovery felt like an eternity, the pro athlete contemplated selling her beloved bikes, but a Lanzarote holiday came to her rescue. The recuperative trip was executed in January when Mackenzie exhibited an urge to get back on the saddle.
