On November 26 morning, a sudden fatal collision occurred on the George Price Highway which injured two cyclists, Jyven Gonzalez and Leon Leslie. They were immediately taken to the hospital after the accident.
On the same day, Ordonez Bike Shop issued a heartfelt call for prayers and support. They released a notice for the ‘cycling family’ to pray for the two talented cyclists. In the note, they shared their thoughts on the initiative and wrote, “…tо ѕеnd рrауеrѕ fоr оur twо tаlеntеd уоung сусlіѕtѕ. Јуvеn Gоnzаlеz аnd Lеоn Lеѕlіе tо mаkе а full rесоvеrу аftеr thеу wеrе knосkеd dоwn оff thеіr bіkеѕ whіlе trаіnіng оn thе Gеоrgе Рrісе Ніghwау thіѕ mоrnіng… Gеt wеll ѕооn оur сусlіng ѕuреrѕtаrѕ.”. Fortunately, both the cyclists managed to make it out of the injury and were recovering slowly.

The cyclists suffered from hip aches resulting from the accident. The incident unfolded near the Jaguar Paw Area, where they were run-in with a vehicle. Breaking Belize News had a conversation with Gonzalez’ mother Jennifer Connorquie where she shared that both Gonzalez and Leslie have been fortunately released from the hospital in a better health condition and that they were now slowly recovering from the collision.
