Reality Show Host James Corden Stirs Controversy by Breaking the Rules While Cycling in Central London

Renowned for his comedic talents, the English anchor James Corden recently made headlines. Not for his hosting acumen, but for a leisurely bike ride in Central London. The 45-year-old star was observed pedaling around the Marylebone area, an act that unexpectedly drew significant attention.

Corden caught in cycling action

The star behind the classic “Gavin and Stacey” was spotted riding a Lime bike on a regular Monday morning. Till this, everything was pretty basic. However, the comedian went against the fundamental laws of cycling while riding the bike on pavement. As reported by the Express, in the highway code it is explicitly stated that “You must not cycle on a pavement”.

On the occasion of violating the rules may lead to an immediate fixed penalty notice fine amounting to £30 pounds, while the potential fines may range up to £500. Dressed casually, adorning a grey hoodie paired with blue jeans for the bike ride, Corden was caught by the paparazzi.

As he approached a parked bike on Paddington Street, placing a Selfridges bag in the basket, the photographers captured him. While heading to the pedestrian crossing, he rode through the pavement, making a momentary pause to converse with a pedestrian who caught him defying cycling regulations.    

From parking fiasco to traffic troubles

Corden has returned to the UK to spend quality time with his wife and three children. Hence, this is not the first time Corden has been exposed to unpleasant situations concerning his biking endeavors. Following his return to the UK, the “The Late Late Show” star was reprimanded for parking his bike outside Mayfair, a popular restaurant in London. 

The captured visuals from the incident show Corden getting involved in an argument with one of the staff members of the restaurant, appearing to be a doorman, revolving around the improper way of parking his bike. At the end of the prolonged discussion, Corden acknowledged his mistake and shifted his bike to a more suitable location. 

In one of the incidents, Harry Styles accompanied his friend Corden, and both of them were accused of crossing the red signal before signaling a right turn. Corden has made his comeback into the spotlight because he refused to adhere to obeying regulations. His decision to prioritize his family moving to the UK entails the responsibility of following the rules of the road as a commitment to ensure the public’s safety.
